Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

In Pennsylvania, you do not need a prescription to start physical therapy immediately due to the state’s “Direct Access” law. Our providers are “direct access” licensed, which means you can receive PT services for 30 days before needing a written referral for PT from your medical provider.  Certain insurances, like Medicare, do require a written prescription for PT in order to pay for services.  Call the office for more information.

Can I come to your office if my referral is written for a different facility?

Absolutely! You can choose whatever physical therapy clinic you wish no matter what your referral says for location.  Call to see if the office participates with your insurance at 717-414-7551.

What should I expect at PT?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled initial evaluation time for intake forms and bring your ID, medical insurance card, medication lists,  your PT referral, and any pertinent documents like MRI reports/orthopedic instructions or protocols.  Your evaluation will take about 60 minutes and treatments typically last from 45-75 minutes depending on your programming.
